PHP File Watermarking Library

We need a PHP-accessible API for adding visual, bitmap data to the following file formats:

* PPT

* PPTX

* DOC

* DOCX

* XLS

* XLSX

* PDF

We would like for the usage of the library to behave as follows:

// add a watermark by specifying path, and then using a pre-defined constant to say where it should go

$doc->addWatermark("path/to/[url removed, login to view]", LOWER_RIGHT);

$doc->save();

// free the file from memory, release resources

$doc->close();

?>

As you can see, most of these are Microsoft Office file formats, with the exception of the Adobe PDF file format. Additionally, it is required that the solution run on a LAMP-based architecture (i.e. Linux). Windows proprietary solutions are not acceptable for this project.

It is fine however to write dynamic modules in C/C++ that can then be linked to PHP to expand its functionality. If you decide to take this route, the C/C++ code must be able to compile with GCC 4.4.0.
