SysAdmin / System Administrator

From Spring Professional we are searching for a <strong>System Administrator</strong> for an important company. The Company has over the past couple of years began leveraging some of the latest technologies in the area of Big Data. The Company has a set of solutions deployed with production customers exercising HDFS, Hbase and Impala.<br />The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a small company atmosphere knowing that every day their contributions make a positive difference to the Company and to their customers.<br /><br />The technical environment is demanding whereby their solutions are deployed in very large telcos supporting billions of events processed per day and millions of concurrent user sessions.<br /><br /><strong>Main tasks:</strong><br />· Performs assessments of existing solution deployments, technologies, equipment and processes in order to make recommendations for improvements and assist with execution of improvements.<br />· Plans and implements system level improvements based on assessments.<br />· Plans new IT infrastructure, to include bill of materials, installation plans and task and milestone planning.<br />· Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.<br />· Coordination with project managers, software development teams and customer infrastructure teams for on-site deployments /upgrades.<br />· Manages local suppliers on hardware installation activities.<br />· Participate in the on-call technical support rotation schedule for customer-escalated incidents regarding Company deployed solutions.<br />· Assist with development/test environment definition, configurations and Admin in the cloud and at Company premises<br />· Responsibility for Company infrastructure security<br /><br /><strong>Experience / Skills /Qualifications:</strong><br />· Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills<br />· Experience with remote access solutions and VPN configurations<br />· Expert with Linux execution environment and run-time trouble diagnosis.<br />· Expert in Cacti and NAGIOS scripts development.<br />· Demonstrates experience in the creation of technical documentation.<br />· Strong English written and verbal communication skills<br />· Capable of working independently as well as part of a group under minimal/moderate supervision.<br />· MySQL administration experience a plus<br />· Java administration experience a plus<br />· Apache/Tomcat administration experience a plus<br />· Hadoop experience a plus<br /><br /><strong>Estudios mínimos</strong><br />Ingeniero Técnico - Técnico en Informática de Sistemas<br /><br /><strong>Experiencia mínima</strong><br />Más de 5 años
