Hi I use a Mac. I need an application that opens like a Numbers spreadsheet or similar. I place sentences on the left. The program inspects each sentence and counts the unique letters of the alphabet used. For example, if this were placed in the field" WORK IS LOVE MADE VISIBLE. The program will note that the letter O is used twice, so it will count it as one. The letter I is used three times. It will count it as one. In the end, if we count all the characters used, and ignore their second and third use etc, we arrive at the number 14. That sentence uses 14 letters of the alphabet. So the spreadsheet will show the number 14 in the column. It will also show the second column that counts it out in full which will show 21. This sentence has 21 characters in total, but 14 unique characters used. I would enter a long list, and expect the program to count them all quickly. We would ignore capital letters and assume them to all be lower case. We would have to ignore words that have full stops and other punctuation like 'don't' and ignore the apostrophe and just count 'don't' as if it were 'dont' and this is 4 characters. It would ignore dashes etc. I would just cut and paste a sentence in the left of the spreadsheet, and when I press RUN or some other method, it will count them all as one batch, and I would need to be able to save the processed file. I would expect that what you design for me to be my IP so that I can use that anywhere. And I would expect that you do not post the application anywhere or on-sell it or publicise it yourself. My Mac uses Mac OS X 10.6.5. I use Numbers, not Excel. I use Pages, not Word.
