Build a Website

I am looking for an experienced Web Designer and Writer. This project is for a new website and has two goals. 1) Develop the website according to the specifications I provide: a) Develop on the existing hosting platform Bluehost (domain already purchased) b) Develop using Wordpress c) Do graphic design for the site d) Edit some copy to fit the site, in order to achieve the stated goals 2) Teach and train me along the way to use the site, to be the admin, to make simple adjustments, to understand the metrics, to utilize the eCommerce system, and be successful with the site you've created. The inputs necessary to complete this project will come from these sources: 1) I have developed a spec document with my thoughts about the requirements, design, and necessary components. This spec document includes example websites, target demographic information, goals, copy, some formatting instructions, graphics files, etc. 2) Conversations we have on the phone or on Skype regarding the website. I will explain what the business does, what I envision and need, and work through your process to gather the information necessary for you to write the Requirements Document. I expect we could easily cover everything needed in a simple one-hour sessions, but I am willing to answer questions and brainstorm when needed. 3) Marketing materials I send you. A few documents with thoughts on the messaging. The website is not large, it has two areas: 1) Informational. This has 4 pages: Home page, Stories, Examples, Contact Us. 2) eCommerce. This is a small eCommerce section. It should be built with a COTS eCommerce engine. I will be looking for your help on defining the specifications for the engine we choose. It will have a single template that is repeatable for different products Example Websites I like, and this site could be pattered after, are: • [login to view URL] • [login to view URL] I like how they have individual vertical sections on each page as you scroll down. To give you a better feel for how much content is on this new site, I have tried to list them in "sections" similar to the above sites: • The Home Page has 3 individual sections – o problem statement o examples (contains a flip book –see [login to view URL] for type-- and some .jpg) o contact us • The Stories Page has 4 individual sections o Places to use story books o Problems it solves o Story Focus o Contact us • The Examples Page has 4 individual sections o A flipbook o Examples (.jpgs and text, preferably with drawer functionality) o Illustration Styles (.jpgs, possibly with carousel functionality) o Contact us • The Contact Us page has a form with 6 fields. Areas that I would be looking for suggestions from you: 1) eCommerce platform 2) SEO optimization 3) User Account suggestions for eCommerce 4) Design suggestions 5) Copywriting for Web conversions Qualifications I am looking for: 1) Experience in Graphic Design 2) Experience in Web Design 3) Experience in Requirements Document writing 4) Willingness to train me to be successful with the final product Please submit to me any questions that will make it easier for you to understand the scope of work, and qualifications that you have.
