Hi. There is not much information about functional specifics of the application that need to be created so I will provide some information about my experience in Excel/VBA for your information. Recently I made a number of programs in financial topic (financial model for pre-IPO evaluation, management reporting systems for a group of companies, accounting databases reconciliation system to match accounting operations entered into system by different companies of a group). Former projects include - package for statisitcal analysis of a company sales, system for backtesting of strategies for playing lotteries. All of the projects were done in a way to allow operation of large data volumes (exceeding 65k - limit of rows in Excel) and included user interface based on MS Office graphic froms.
