Do some Excel Work

The aim of the project is to enter some expense, accompanied with the corresponding scanned receipts at the web site Expensify ([login to view URL]). I have scanned all the receipts to be processed. So now every scanned image file contains from 1 to 6 receipts. The number varies, due to the different size of receipts. Bigger receipts were scanned alone; smaller ones were scanned together so one scanned image contains more. The steps/tasks of the project are: 1. Download from dropbox a file containing the scanned receipts in images. The files are around 900. 2. With any simple image processing software create subimages so each one contain only one receipt. That is, if a scanned image file contains 4 scanned receipts, the result should be 4 image files containing each receipt. This involves simple image editing moves: "Select" the rectangle of the receipt, "Crop" it, and then Save it with a new name (deriving from the original). This is the 1st time consuming part of the project. 3. Upload the "processed " images to the web site Expensify. This is easy since the site supports multiple file uploading 4. Process each uploaded image. That is to "read" the receipt on the image and recognize the following fields: "Merchant name", "Date", "Amount" either in Euros or in SEK. This is the 2nd time consuming part of the project. It also involves some smart reading of the receipt (most of them are not in English language) so to recognize the fields and also differentiate if the "Amount" fields are in Euros or SEK. Luckily the receipts in whole world, more or less follow a similar pattern: MErchant name on top and with larger font, date is universally recognized and amount in larger or bold font.
