REFLECTION 2: Chinese smart phone maker Xiaomi ascended to the rank of #3 smart phone maker for only a few hours, until Lenovo purchased Motorola mobility. Regardless of whether Xiaomi or Lenovo takes the 3rd place as the world’s largest smart phone manufacturers, it is clear that Chinese smartphone makers will continue to gain share, exerting pressure on #1 maker, Samsung, who has reported serious margin decline recently. This trend doesn’t seem to have affected Apple’s bottom-line.
