E-chimsika is an electronic platform that enables the marketing of agricultural products and farmers produce of a diverse range to a wider market. The platform allows for products produced by different suppliers and farmers to be bided for and purchased by potential buyers on the virtual marketspace. The platform attempts to solve the following underlying problems faced by small-scale farmers:
i. Inability to market their products to a wider market due to various obstacles
ii. Inability to transport their products to a wider market due transportation constraints and costs.
iii. Inability to sell their products to a wider market
E-chimsika will attempt to solve the challenges faced by farmers through providing, a medium of exchange and offer transportation services were collaborators can register to use the platforms service through a mobile app and sms.
1. Users i.e Agents, Suppliers, Farmers and Buyers will both need to be registered on the platform.
a. Credentials required for farmer registration
i. National identity number
ii. Full Name
iii. Telephone Number
iv. Eco-cash number
v. One wallet number
vi. Farm or Plot Name and Address
vii. Size of farm
viii. Location of Farm
ix. Type of farmer
1. Chicken Farmer
2. Horticulture
3. Beef farmer
4. Dairy farmer
5. Goat farmer
6. Sheep farmer

b. Payments
i. Each farmer subscribed will pay commission for each sale and for the transportation service to be provided by the platform.
ii. Payments to be conducted physically then electronically as the participants to the service increases.
