Clean Identity on Web

When you look up my name on Google/ the internet, many bad websites/pages come up. I need to make my name clean and for these pages not to appear. I would love for these pages/web sites not to exist as these are very defamatory towards me, but I have been told that the best way to do this is to flood the internet with pages about me which are positive so that the bad pages do not appear until very late in the search engine. So what i want is for when some looks for me on the internet for nothing bad to appear at all. Unfortunately there are probably about 50-70 pages/websites which have me on these, so it is not only 1 or 2 websites/pages which we are trying to hide

Please let me know what you can do "to clean my name" either by taking the content off of the internet/Google or by creating hundreds of new pages/sites to flush the old pages/web sites out. I will give my details to the successful person which i give the job to.
