Access Database Import VBA

I have an Access database, we need to import an excel file and prompt the user for various actions during the import process. For example, if there are duplicate records (based on 1 field) then the user will decide if they want to 'skip' the import for that record - 'append' the info to the existing record - or 'update' the existing record. I was told that this could be done be creating a custom form and using VBA. I need this part of the database finished by Friday afternoon. I would also like the same developer to look over the entire database and recommend changes for better functionality of the database as a whole.
