Create action for Photoshop to do the following.
Place a picture in a box and save the resulting image using the imported picture name with a prefix.
I would create the empty picture with whatever size I need (300 x 200 for example), and the action will retrieve and place pictures saved in a folder. When done the resulting picture will be saved as 'S- original imported picture [url removed, login to view]'. Action will do this for all the pictures in the selected folder.
Placing the picture seems to be the best way as it scale the imported picture and center it, but you may have better solutions.
