Configure and extend Wordpress Pods custom post types / advanced content types

I have a website that is using the Pods plugin to create custom post types, and we currently have 5 custom post types created. Some of the data in the Pods is repeated, and thus we need to add additional Pods to maintain optimum database principles. We are reaching the limits of our own knowledge and ability, and thus are looking for someone with direct experience in this. One of our Pods has 96 fields, which is far too much, and we have worked out we need to create two additional Pods/tables to store this data better. We have attempted this ourselves but then can't find a way to edit the additional meta fields correctly, whilst maintaining the correct relationships.
