I have a VB6 project using crviewer for Crystal Reports 8.5 and 9.0. I want to add a module to find the default ODBC datasource that was selected as the default when the report was designed in Crystal Reports.
A message box will popup telling the user that the ODBC Data Source must be setup before running the report in the crviewer application.
I have seen this done in other Crystal Viewer applications so I know there must be a way to display the default ODBC Data Source Name before running the report.
Looks like I need to explain a bit further. My code is working. I just want to add a line of code to display the default ODBC data source name of a crystal report file selected and tell the user they must define that ODBC datasource to run the report. My project uses [login to view URL], [login to view URL] and crystl32.ocx. I'm guessing one of these has a property to display the datasource name of the .rpt file. I am guessing that Crystal reports developers are able to define the datasource name at development time.
