clean website from virus

My website provider (Siteground) has sent me a message telling me that Illegal activity through my website has been detected. Due to the severity of the problem, they disabled the access to my site until the problem is solved. The scope of the job is to do what the hosting provider is suggesting in order to allow the site to get access again. If it is of some help, I can tell that the virus detected was [login to view URL] For more clarification I am retyping the message from my hosting provider: "SiteGround has received a complaint from its upstream provider - SingleHop, that your account is hosting malware (malicious software). For more information on what malware is, you can check the following link: [login to view URL] You can find the complaint we have received at the bottom of this message. The malware software is located at: IP: [login to view URL] URL: [login to view URL] Port: 80 Tested on: Tue, 10 Apr 2012 00:45:50 +0200 Result: Trojan.JS-83 Due to the severity of the problem, we were forced to disable web access to the above URL. We are very much aware of the inconvenience this issue may cause you, so we would like to take a moment and explain the reasons for our actions: as you know, your account is hosted on a shared hosting server and thus sharing the resources of the server with other customers' accounts. When there is some malicious software on a shared hosting account, it endangers the integrity of the whole shared server and all accounts hosted on it. If the source of the malware is not isolated, we risk having the whole server unplugged. And we cannot allow the entire hosting server with hundreds of accounts on it to be unplugged because of malware hosted on one single account. This is why the above explained precaution was absolutely necessary. In order to have web access restored, please do the following: 1. Remove the malicious script from your hosting account. 2. Run an antivirus scan on your computer(s). 3. Change your cPanel and FTP passwords. 4. Disable/remove any application/script/module you are not using. 5. Upgrade and secure all of the applications you are using.
