Build a Quick Books / MySQL database connection that synchronizes QB & a web Server database.

We have a client with QuickBooks (latest version) running on Windows Server 2012 OS. We also have an on-line application that allows customers to schedule appointments, pay invoices & update customer data (like phone number, etc.). The client in-house staff also uses the online system to create new customers and make appointments. Once a day, a Windows scheduled process runs of the client server. This process accepts changes made to customer data on the web server, updates Quick Books & then totally replaces the on-line equivalents of the Customer, Invoice Header & Invoice Detail tables on the web server. The process uses An Access database that interconnects with the Quick Books database via “External” (to Access) tables. The process uses an Access Macro & a number of Access Queries. It uses command line ftp to upload files and initiates several web server php programs that offload or upload QB data from/to the on-line MySQL database. We want to replace this process with a process that synchronizes the two databases “on the fly” and does not require an Access intermediary. We would like to use php because that is the language used on the web server now. Also, invoice records (Header & Detail) need to be synchronized if a payment is made (either on web or manually entered into Quick Books) or if a new invoice is entered into QB. Note, the appointments part of this is web only, no QB interface.
