API Integration between marketplaces and suppliers

I need to integrate between our store and our suppliers inventory system and automate orders with them .
right now I suck these fields out of our database as a csv ... But it would be nice if we could fully integrate using the api that way we could suck in order data for a packing slip... and export data ... tracking number ... shipping status ... and so forth back to the website ..
