Hi,
This project is about a site where teachers can upload files for students / other teachers.
Currently, teachers select what year their upload is suitable for using the dropdown menu called 'year' on the [login to view URL] file. I want to make changes so they will be able to select multiple years, and later on, users can search using similar checkboxes.
This project will involves changes to:
- The 'uploads' table in the database.
The change:
- Currently in [login to view URL] users simply specify a 'year' when uploading (7, 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12)
It's a dropdown menu, so they can only select one. This info goes into the 'year' field in the database.
I'd like to change this, so users can select multiple years using a checkbox (checkboxes already inserted into uploads2.php.
Instead of 'year', I want to call this 'audience'
They audience can be 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Parents, Teachers, Community, with multiple selections allowed.
The "All_years" checkbox should be used as a toggle button to toggle years 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 on and off, but have no effect on "Parents", "Teachers" or "Community".
This info needs to go into an "Audience" field in the database. I haven't created this field yet as I'm not sure what data type is best.
(This also requires a small change to [login to view URL])
Once it's in the database, this info needs to be searchable.
[login to view URL] needs to be altered in a similar way to [login to view URL] so the "All_years" checkbox should be used as a toggle button to toggle years 7 to 12 on and off, but have no effect on "Parents", "Teachers" or "Community".
[login to view URL] needs to be altered so the search results reflect the use of the checkboxes in [login to view URL]
Cheers,
Dave
