TheBarSpot is going to be an interactive polling site where users can 'vote' on which bar they are going to on that particular night. The polls will be simple to vote for and easy to read/compare.
The process: A user logs in(see registration below) and sees a list of all the places to go. The user then can browse the polls and compare one another, also then they may vote. The user is restricted to one vote per night.
The registration process should be simple; Name, email address(MUST BE *.edu) where the *.edu is the school corresponding to the town. This edu association can be made by the administrator. Registration will also include birthday, gender, graduation date, greek/non-greek option.. To complete registration the user must click on a corresponding link in a confirmation email(confirmation emails are only sent to the *.edu addresses).
On each side of the site we would like a spot for announcements which will be the same size and shape on both sides. There will be up to 5 announcements on each side only displaying one announcement per side(2 total per page view).
The administrator mode will require a unique administrator login and password. Once in the administrator mode the administrator will be able to delete users, change announcements, add new bars, add new
schools(adding a new school would designate adding a new .edu to register and new schools would start out with no bars).
Administrator should also be able to generate random entries so that if the site lacks traffic then it could randomly generate results for the polls.
Technical aspects.
The programmer should decide which would be the best way to implement everything, a database will probably be required for sorting all the information. If it is easy and efficient then a flash interface(to vote and see the results) would be desired.
