Currently the company has two websites, one for end users (people who use their products) and one for distributors (people who sell their products to the end users). The sites are identical, however one has an end user price list and the other has a password protected distributor price list.
The goal is to combine the two websites and have a section that is password protected for the distributor pricing.
There are two ways to approach this project:
1) Design basic home page layout and design product detail page layout in html (standard template pages) then I will do all the database work and create all the internal pages. (Time for completion would be approx 15 ??" 20 days) This is my preferred method to approach this project.
2) I can provide you all the pictures and text and you can create the entire site from start to finish. The site can be static or database driven from a CMS. Total product pages would be 30 and other misc pages such as FAQ, Contact, About Us…for a total of around 40 pages total.
The focus is on a high end look and feel utilizing good clean code and rapidly loading pages. Remember...simple, clean and user freindly.
The industry this is in is the tool/construction trade, a business selling products that will be used by people building homes and the website will need to cater to both end users and distributors.
After seeing your portfolio of work and projected bid amount I will provide URL’s for the existing sites for your reference if all is in order.
Time is very important with a completion date of 30 days from acceptance of project and bid. (Around 20 if you are only providing a few template pages) If you can not work under this timeline then please do not bid on this project.

* * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Wednesday Dec 13, 2006 11:49:00 AM:
Thank you for everyone who took the time to bid on this project. I have some issues I would like to give some bidders an opportunity to clarify:
1) If you placed a bid and did not state if it was for option 1 or 2 I don’t know what it was for.
2) If you placed a bid and did not give me links to your work, I can not evaluate your design work.
3) Because the project is in the $500 and above category it does not mean that spending $500 for $250 worth of work is what I have in my mind to pay. The price range for method 1 should be in the $200 - $500 range depending on your skill and quality and the range for the full site database or static page should be in the $750 - $1,200 range.
If you have placed a bid and did not send links to your work/portfolio, please feel free to send a message. If you did not tell me if you were bidding on method 1 or 2 send me a message. If you misunderstood the project and feel you may have bid too high (or too low) provided the work you will supply, please send me a message.
Thanks again for your time!
## Platform
PHP or ASP if using method 2 with a MySQL or MS SQL database respectivly.
If using method 1 html with css is fine
