automation of mediaplayer list

- A client PC(it can go upto n numbers) names X with processor as in <[login to view URL]> connects to survillence system as in <[login to view URL]> which displays CCTV footage from 6am till 12am. you can choose the OS system(xp or linux) to complete my requirement. - A client PC should play 150seconds worth of Advertisement on the top of those CCTV footage in any media player and should disappear for 30 seconds and play back 150seconds again and this flow should be maintainted from 6am-12am without any interruption. This ad should play flawlessly. - each media clip is either mpeg or wmv about 8mb and holds either 15second or 30second worth of Ad. it will be in a folder as of format [login to view URL](15sec) [login to view URL](15sec) [login to view URL](30sec) [login to view URL](15sec) [login to view URL] (30sec) ... ... in folder C:\Ads folder in a client PC this PC should check for new files in the server every 30mins in directory C:\Ads\Files_X if the client file timestamp? differs to? server it should download plus download any new files from server. media player must play on top of CCTV footage and on given time it should select files worth of 150secs(pick either 15sec clip or 30sec clip) and hide the ad player while CCTV footage could be displayed for 30secs and unhide the player for 150secs. each played clips should be logged in a comma delimited CSV file and when it checks for update in server should drop this csv file as in format [login to view URL],[login to view URL] etc. please note this csv file needs to be secure so that client cant make changes to it. its sole purpose is to export into sql server in the server. for system performance, after 12.30am it should shut down and restart before 6am automatically and do same function without human intervention(i.e. no welcome to xp or anything, should straight away display Ads). linux is prefered OS (ubuntu etc). at a given time there is 120x5 15sec or 30sec clips in a clients PC. if there is no update just play existing footage.
