I have done the same thing for the android to Arduino now i can do it for ios too as we have ios experts.i'm attaching you the ppt file of my last year project so you will have idea about the project and now i'm ios developer and knows Arduino as well

Currently we have developed temperature and pressure sensor, BTLE to Serial Converter, Motor controller, with Bluetooth 4.0 based on CC2540 BTLE (system-on-chip (SoC) solution for Bluetooth low-energy applications). We have experience in programming firmware (program in chip), software on iOS, design PCB for cc2540. And a lot of expansion board.
