Asterisk / Linux support (need to fix slow calls, maybe better codec...) - repost

Hi,

I have an Asterisk server but calls are crackling.

I upgraded the server to 2GB ram and still calls are crackling.

top in Linux shell shows 0 load; the server is performing very well, but asterisk calls are breaking up.

Need to find the root cause and fix this.

Possible causes:

- Network (mis-)configuration

- Codec used (am using ulaw)

- Termination provider

- other issue(s)
