Google has created two tutorials on their developers page. Their variable languages are different and I can't get them to work together.
[login to view URL] - "expense report approval" (Please note that the function getRowData is in the downloadable spreadsheet on the link, not in the code posted. You will have to download the spreadsheets to get the full code for this.)
[login to view URL] - "helpdesk tutorial"
All of the code in both of these programs are not necessary.
What I need done: An employee will turn in a filled out google doc that will be available on a google form. They will need to post their email, their url to their form, comments, and then their supervisors email. An email needs to be automated to the supervisor. The supervisor fills out another google form, approving or deny the project. What is in the tutorial is sufficient. Then whatever response the supervisor has, the employee will get a response. Again, all in the tutorial.
The problem is the helpdesk tutorial portion. IF the document is approved, it is sent to another department for processing. If you look in the tutorial, whenever there is an edit to the spreadsheet, an email needs to be sent out updating the original employee on the status of their document. I can't get that portion to work. Problem is I don't want duplicate emails being sent out. What I mean is that if you have the help desk email function and expense report email function running, duplicate emails may be sent out, which I do not want. Once the cell is changed to "approve" run the on edit function.
I feel the biggest problem with this project is just changing the variable names from the helpdesk tutorial to match the expense report tutorial.
