design characters for simple visual game

We are developing a simple video game that is used to diagnose children. The game has been developed in the sense that characters are displayed and move on the screen. We are however not satisfied with the quality of the character design. We need some simple characters which need to resemble in their design style the characters of the 'Poco Yo' animation series. Of course they should not be copied from this series, they should be of a similar 'look and feel'. We need 2 diferent 'nice' characters and 2 different 'monsters' for now. Later on we'll need to expand the range of characters in order to match with diferent age ranges that we want to present them to.
We'll need to results in a couple of weeks at the most. We'll need a process in which we first show you some examples of comic characters we think are good examples, followed by the freelancer designing some alternatives, from which we then choose the final ones that are elaborated as we need them in terms of quality.
