Headset =>
Bearing interface between handlebar stem and headtube of bicycle. Challenge is removing play between fork steerer and headtube whilst allowing free steering and not damaging delicate carbon parts which are now commonplace in modern bikes. On the road repairs can be fiddly with some models of headset requiring special tools for fine adjustment. There is always a risk of over tightening and catastrophic carbon failure with expander type headsets unless a torque wrench is used at all times (which is just not feasible when on the road). When not adjusted correctly headsets have the propensity to loosen over time, especially when riding on rough pot hole ridden surfaces or off road or after taking a large single hit. This, along with producing a highly annoying knocking noise on the front end of your bike, can be dangerous, potentially leading to steering difficulties or damage to your fork or headset.
Design=>
This design needs to allow simple, safe, easy adjustment of your headset which completely removes the need to use tools. There is no risk of overtightening and therefore no risk of damage to carbon fork steerers. The device can also be used with older generation alloy fork steerers without problem.
The vast majority of Road, Cyclocross, Track, and Mountain bikes for both young and old have headsets that would be compatible with a device of this type.
I have a sketch idea of what is required - needs fine tuning, drawing up, prototyping, manufacturing and releasing to market.
