We currently have a drupal site which stores files for each user in an Amazon AWS S3 bucket. Currently the site creates a bucket in S3 for each drupal user. Due to AWS S3 limits of only being able to create 100 buckets, we are now looking for a developer to change this. We are wanting to go to having 8 buckets. 1 bucket for each S3 region. Each user will get instead of a bucket each, they will get a folder in the bucket for the region they have chosen. This project requires nothing new created but more a change to the way files are stored in S3 The successful bidder should be able to show evidence of working with drupal, but more importantly AWS S3. Bids which don't mention drupal and S3 will be ignored A decision on this project will be made quickly, so the bid that puts in the best effort 1st time, to show they can achieve this and start immediately is most likely to win the bid.

Hello, I assume you are using a custom coded module to store the files currently? Can you tell me what functionality you provide or probably urls to check? One question I wanted to ask was whether you are concerned about too many files on the same bucket. An alternate approach would be to use a hashing algorithm to spread the users among the buckets. In this way we can create any number of buckets and as new users are added assign them to one among them and keep a reference of the same. I have considerable experience with S3 [usually shell scripts and usage as a backup service] and decent experience with Drupal.
