Database design

1. Build a database of US politicians including their campaign issue platform, actual voting records and sources of campaign finance. 2. Integrate existing data from public sources and/or third party providers. Most of this data seems to be public, just not yet organized well. We have some leads here and open to further suggestions. 3. Using the new database, build analytical tools that: a. Designate the representatives and executives for a given individual user by zip code / voting district; b. Return platform versus actual voting analysis and relative ranking amongst all politicians; c. Return sources of finance in three categories- Party, Corporate/PAC, and individual; The data used to populate the database you will create, should you be selected, will come from public/open sources (i.e., [login to view URL]; [login to view URL]; [login to view URL]; [login to view URL]; and various U.S. state secretary of state offices). The data is available through API or downloadable data files. The database would need to be able to scrape all of this information on a bi-monthly/monthly basis. The data would need to be searchable and returnable to a UI with the parameters mentioned in the original job posting. Have you done this type of database design in the past? If so please provide us with details, samples, references to these previous projects. We are unsure of how long this project will take. We are open to suggestions on timeframe, but time is of the essence and the project needs to be completed ASAP.
