I need a Windows service with following features:
when usb ftdi device plugged in detects device name and starts the proper service on the proper com port
listens on a port and can be accessed from php receiving a string to be sent over ftdi device to a microcontroller.

If I understand correctly you need two things here: 1. ftdi/usb port communication 2. http(s) server waiting for php commands to send to ftdi microcontroller. Is this correct ?
