Script Writer: Storyline: Chaparral House is a skilled nursing eldercare community that promotes the individuality, independence, and dignity of the residents. While Chaparral House provides excellent skilled nursing services, the environment is designed to feel more home-like with colorful linens, comfortable common areas, and beautiful gardens. Residents are given choice in what they wear, eat, and do, which is counter to the custodial model of many nursing homes. The residents are the focus of everything we do here. Chaparral House has a robust activities program that includes live music performances, art, wheelchair yoga, parties, and much more. We have many wonderful volunteers including local school children who make up part of our inter-generational program. We strive to keep our elders integrated in the community and to bridge the disconnect between people of different ages in modern society. When this project is complete, Chaparral House will have a video to share with the world. First, we will enter this video into the Techsoup 2016 Storytelling challenge with the hopes of winning a prize. Then, we hope to re-post the video on our website and possibly use it for crowdfunding purposes.
