Academic Writing

The purpose of this assignment is to allow each student to become familiar with industry information by reading current industry articles. The articles that you find should relate to the various topic areas in the course and if possible, to the fashion company that you are researching. It will also allow you to become more familiar with trade and consumer publications in our industry. Each student will be required to turn in eight (8) journal entries. Students should carefully read and analyze each article – please type one to two page summary of the article including your opinions and thoughts about the article. Please attach each article to each analysis. Please discuss what is most important about the article and how this can be helpful to the fashion strategist. Analyzing an advertisement is not an acceptable journal entry. All work needs to be handed in as a hard copy using the APA format for documentation. Please use Times New Roman, 12 pt. font. Late work will not be accepted. All work must be neatly organized and fastened together with articles. The articles can come from physical publications or from online publications. Please remember to document all of your sources.
