Select any environmental issue or problem that interests you that has not been a topic of the weekly essays. Research the issue and prepare a 2500 word paper. References and title do not count towards the word count. This assignment counts 100 points. Papers with font size under 14 will result in a grade of zero! You must cite at least 5 different references in the body of your paper and list them at the end of the paper but this is considered to be minimal effort and will result in points lost if there are only 5. Citation in text must include only the authors name and the year published, for example: (Corey 2014). The paper must be posted in the correct thread on the discussion board by midnight (11:59 pm) on Monday April 25, 2016 No late papers will be accepted! No extensions will be given. Paper must have a standard list of references after the body of the text (skip two lines and then begin your references). List of references must follow a standard accepted format such as MLA.
The following questions will help guide your research and must be included in your paper:
1. Identify and describe an environmental issue or problem of interest. If there is a particular reason why you chose this problem list it.
2. Identify and discuss what are the primary causes associated with the environmental problem.
3. What will be the consequences to the environment and humans if the environmental problem is not corrected or minimized?
4. Are applicable environmental laws or regulations adequately addressing the issue?
5. What are the limitations of such laws or regulations?
6. Do economic and political considerations influence the remediation of environmental problems?
7. Discuss the solutions or alternatives that can prevent and/or minimize the impact to the environment and humans.
