Classic ASP modification to PayPal Express Checkout No Longer Working After PayPal Updates

PayPal recently updated its Sandbox platform and soon production platform so that

WinHTTP.WinHTTPRequest.5.1 is apparently no longer working.

At least this is what we believer, and after Googling- found several others experiencing the same difficulty.

The error response in [url removed, login to view] is a 500 error "An error occurred in the secure channel support".

We have several areas of a site that is under development using PayPal Express Checkout (NVP) and IPN with the API Signature.

The basis for the code in our site was generated using PayPal's Integration Wizard . (Creating [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] etc.)

All of these have now stopped working since PayPal's last update.

We wish to work with a developer to do several things.

1. Find a workaround and resolve this WinHTTP.WinHTTPRequest.5.1 so that the existing code can be modified and work.

2. Once we have seen you are competent and able to find a solution to this problem we would like to discuss with you the possibility of implementing PayPal's Adaptive Payments into one specific area of our site. This will be taken with you personally on successful completion of point 1.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. Our site is in Classic ASP. Not .NET

2. The solution/ modification to our pages should allow us to once again be able to test payments in PayPal's Sandbox as well as go live by eventually updating the Sandbox flag from false to true.

3. Your offer / bid/ should be for point 1 (Finding a workaround and resolve this WinHTTP.WinHTTPRequest.5.1 so that the existing code can be modified and work. ) at this stage. If you are able to do this, on budget and in a timely manner then we shall discuss point 2.

PLEASE ONLY PROFESSIONAL CLASSIC ASP DEVELOPERS WITH KNOWELDGE AND EXPERIENCE OF IMPLEMENTING PAYPAL NEED APPLY.

PLEASE NOTE:
This may be an issue due to WinHHP.WinHTTPRequest.5.1 as we inform.
It may be a winhttp.dll issue or TSL 1.2 etc.
Knowledge of server protocols would obviously be an advantage in resolving this issue quickly and effectively.

It may appear that infact the problem is Windows based.

We have discovered that the winhttp.dll in Windows 2008 R2 does not contain the TLS 1.1 or TLS 1.2 protocols necessary to communicate with the PayPal Sandbox. Therefore we ask those who have submitted a bid to consider this fact in the event that this is the case and that they are not competent in resolving server protocols.
