So, I have a couple of doubts.
    1) Can I consider this belt as a box and you have to take the maximum number of packages in this box? as the belt gives me a picture whose height can be zero
    2) The dimension formula given has nothing to do with the actual volume of the package right? The actual volume is still L*B*H?

So consider the longest side=100cm and the other sides to be 50-50 each
Now each box will take the area =10*5= 50 therefore we can have 100 boxes kept along the longest side and on the 50cm length and there will be a total of 50/3.6= 13.88= 13 such rows therefore you can fit 1300 boxes in that belt

Please check the problem once again. Either the dimensions are wrong, or the given formula is wrong or the answer of 480 boxes is wrong.

48 boxes side by side and 10 boxes on top of each other gives a total of 480 boxes with a volume of 10 * 50 * 172,8 cm (= belt dimension of 292,8cm)

However, according to the formula, the circumference of one box will be : 2*5+ 2*3.6+10= 27.2 cm. So a maximum belt dimension of 300 cm will be able to accommodate (300/27.2) or 11 boxes approx.

According to your reply, the dimension of 7 boxes is 80.4 cm. (2*10+2*5+2*3.6*7). So a dimension of 300 cm will be able to accommodate (300*7/80.4) or 26 boxes approx. How is the answer of 480 boxes possible?

      1) width and height are the shortest lengths (in this case 5 + 3.6).
      2) forwarder means carrier / shipper / forwarding agent.
