Resumen del concurso

A magic theater with three sections, the first section includes an ice cream shop and a bathroom facility for the theater. The second section is seating for the theater, and the third section is a hidden magic club.

(*This is just the initial work for the crowdfunding sites. I will likely spend more money to develop the plans when I hit the milestone funding. I may extend the project, which Freelancer charges for, and 50% of those funds for expanding the project goes to the winner.)

The contest winner may work with someone with more expertise and science, so you may use this opportunity to build your portfolio. If you are a professional and your rates are significantly higher, consider designing only one room. I may offer multiple prizes and winners as in past contests. If you look at my profile,e I've been very generous in awarding more than one winner in some of the contests. Please note the other prize winners were top-notch quality work.)

The first section, the ice cream shop will have a few arcades and a secret entrance/murphy door that leads to a theater, and the theater leads to a small private club/museum/bar/kitchen.

A murphy door is a bookcase that's a Secret Doorway. (in this case, it doesn't have to be a bookcase, it can be a large painting or something else.) Be creative with the secret entrance! In the case of the Chicago magic lounge, it's a laundromat. It's okay if you make it a bookcase, but a bonus point for creativity is if you make it something unique and original.

The theater will have tiered seating with higher seats in the back. Be sure to include a side dressing room for the performer. The theater will seat 24 people with four rows of 6; in front is the performer's close-up magic table and a curtain behind.

The private club will have display cases for books and historical magic posters framed and a bar area. (and a small kitchen behind the bar)

So again, to summarize, three sections, an ice cream shop in front, a theater with curtains backstage, and at the front of the theater (from the audience view on the right will be a time machine/dematerialization chamber that will make the performer appear and lead to the private club in the back. There will also be another entrance in the back, allowing guests to enter the private club without entering through the front.

    Just due to my love for Magic.. I SO want to take part...
    But to have some idea of scales; can you please provide with approximations of:
    1_ How many people is it that you wish for "ability" to enter through the Murphy door in one instance? Do you specifically prefer a single line or ease of entry?
    2_ Will the front or back entrance be the emergency/fire exit?
    3_ Will you require allowance for a trap-door on stage? Even if not; does the whole theater/stage demand elevation (Hence steps to get to in) for any reason your performance choices may demand for?
    5_ Will there be a separate pair of restrooms in theater? Or are guests allowed to use the restrooms in the club? (question asked via my presumption the club is a VIP area.. And that they HAVE restrooms)

      Hi Berter,

      1-2 people at at time. If you have a design of a door that can accommodate more let me know and we'll consider it. It may be a large poster or a bookshelf. The bookshelf should be ADA accessible but the poster people may have to step over.
      I think there might need to be fire/emergency on the front and back.
      No trap door at this time
      Restrooms should be far enough a way from the theater so we can't hear it flush when a performance is in progress. If they are on the same sides or closer to each other it may cut down on plumbing cost.
