Extract data from text, fetch text from the web. - I have a list of urls, I am looking for a developer to write a script or application that will fetch the html file for that url and extract pieces of information out of it. It will be a bunch of prices on that page, you would extract that with Regex or Grep or similar (your choice) and compare the prices against a number. Ideally the script you write can be run on a remote machine with cron, etc every day (so command line only is good, no need for fancy gui, the output can be a text file or a simple html file, we can discuss that) You can use whatever scripting language you want (shell, perl, php, nodeJs etc) but keep in mind that ill be running it on osx, so keep it simple and it shouldnt require a ton of other things to be installed on my system. (note: if you can get the job done using a shell script that's even better, the original script that produces the list of urls to be fetched is actually a bash script) I have a more detailed job description that I will send to applicants.
