I need a web-based tool that lets our construction teams record every site expense the moment it happens, file the supporting invoices, and keep an eye on material usage—all from a single browser window. The platform must feel straightforward enough for general staff who simply want to enter a purchase, yet robust enough for accountants who will later audit the numbers and reconcile invoices. Core workflow • Expense tracking — quick entry form with cost codes, supplier, project reference. • Inventory tracking — lightweight module to log materials received versus consumed, helping us spot overruns before they grow. Key expectations • Role-based access: at minimum “General Staff” (create / view own) and “Accountant” (approve, edit, export, run reports). • Dashboard with project-level totals, filterable by date range and cost category. • Searchable ledger and export to Excel or CSV. • Responsive UI so tablets on site remain fully functional. • Clean, well-commented code plus setup documentation so we can host it on our own server.
