Hello,
I would like someone to design and test a plastic part which will be used as an attachment for iPhone charging cable.
Design idea --- iPhones charging cables tend to wear out after 6-8 months of extensive usage. The main point of breakage is at the transition point between stiffer part of the adapter and flexible part of the [login to view URL] design an attachment which would support the cable.
I have already designed the part, however, when I got the parts 3D printed, they were not up to the expectations. The main reasons for failure are there was a lot of slippage of the internal surface, flexibility grooves have compromised the total structural rigidity and pins weren't coming up as expected.
I need someone to design a flexible plastic part which can be injection [login to view URL] the design is made, simulation in ANSYS or any other simulation software with results have to be presented. Based on the results, I can choose the material. Generally, speaking I'm inclined towards Dryflex® 500750S which is a TPE but any suggestions regarding the material are welcome. I can give you the design file of the design I made and any other requirements if necessary.

I can design cable support easily, but for that I will need to know exact measurements of your cable connector measurements (the end that you plug in to your phone). If it is original "Apple" usb then I can find measures on my own.
Also, how big the support should it be?
I am not familiar with ANSYS or any other simulation software, but as i said I can easily design a functional charger support. I owned a 3D printer my self, used to sell RC car parts printed with that printer.
The idea is :
1. Getting the correct and precise measurements of connector that needs the support
2. Designing said support.
3. Done.
