Advanced SIMIO Model

build hospital simulation model using the SIMIO. Feel free to build a 3D animated model as much as you can. If you would like to use the professional version of this software, you can contact with the QU IT specialist.

1. After you build your model, please conduct experimentation for your response variables. Feel free to choose your response variables such as scheduled utilization, TIS, maximum TIS, NIS, maximum NIS, etc. I recommend you use at least 6 response variables in your response analysis. By using the ‘set referenced property’ option, select some parameters that you will use in your experimentation with at least 25-50 replications (e.g.: processing time, arrival rate, capacity, etc.)

2. Finally, once you build your final model with experimentation and response variables, please conduct an advanced response sensitivity analysis using the SIMIO. To conduct the response sensitivity analysis, you need to define each input parameter from the ‘input parameters’ option of the SIMIO. Here, you need to select at least 6 input parameters for your sensitivity analysis. You need to explain the results based on generated reports such as pie charts, bar charts, tornado diagrams, etc.

3. Once you build your sensitivity analysis model, please make sure that your number of replications for the previous step is at least 25-50 replications for 100 hours. Then, collect the raw data from the model output and build a multiple regression model using one of the software such as MATLAB, R-Studio, Python, Statistica or Minitab. Then, obtain the coefficients of each input parameter and compare the regression coefficients with the sensitivity analysis results generated by the SIMIO.

4. Please submit your final assignment for the final SIMIO model and prepare one report with all detailed explanations of your experimentation, response/experimental analysis, and input sensitivity analysis. Your report should have a short summary, introduction, methods/data explanation, discussion of results and references (if any).
