The job is to build a BigCommerce app/plugin that submits order shipping details (courier + tracking number) to our back-end RESTful API. The workflow is as follows: 1) The store owner signs up to our system and obtains an API key (out of scope) 2) The store developer installs this plugin from the BigCommerce Apps Marketplace In Scope: publishing to the BigCommerce Apps Marketplace, descriptive content will be provided to the specifications you request 3) The store developer configures the plugin by providing it with the API key In Scope: a configuration form to capture the API key In Scope: a combo box called "Active Status" with "Inactive" (default) and "Active" selected. When "Inactive" the plugin doesn't do anything In Scope: a combo box called "Live Status" with "Sandbox" (default) and "Live". When in Sandbox mode the URL for the API is a sandbox URL (to be provided), when in "Live" mode the URL for the API is a live URL (to be provided) 4) Every time an order's status is updated AND it has tracking details, the plugin calls the API with the fields: API Key for this retailer, shipment courier name, shipment tracking number, order number, API version (fixed, to be provided) Unknown (you're the expert): - version support of BigCommerce (is there such a thing?) Out of scope to make the job simpler: - dealing with the API response (error, timeout, bad data, unrecognised courier, etc) - dealing with shipments that are cancelled or changed, any time a shipment is updated the API gets a push, even if the API has been called before with the same data.
