Help me with producing a very basic GUI in PyQt5/QTDesigner

I need assistance with developing a very simple GUI using PyQt5/QTDesigner/Python 3.5
The project requires a person to enter their name and upon clicking a button, the program will
display a message: Your name is.....
I've started developing, but keep on running into an error as follows:

AttributeError: type object 'QObject' has no attribute 'connect'

Please assist.
This project will not take longer than an hour to complete, so very short term.
