Write MySQL application

We have an excel spreadsheet with data and formulas. As we keep making changes to the formulas, excel is no longer functioning well due to large file size. We want to convert this into an app (would run on our server and mySQL) with a web-facing interface. The app would allow us to import the data (same as spreadsheet) and be able to edit formulas and get results as well as charts. Please take a look at the excel file with the data, then review the requirements below: REQUIREMENTS: 1. Need to generate charts from a) value data b) drawdown data Charts need to be able to compare data from different "runs" (i.e each time a formula or setting gets changed and the calculations are re-run) 2. Need to be able to calculate a) value at each data change (for each row) using a formula. The formula needs to be fully editable with a query (that can reference any piece of data or any other calculated field) and use any mathematical terms as well as IF/THEN operators b) max drawdown (i.e % difference between CURRENT value and HIGHEST value to date) other fields that add in to calculating a) such as i. position size (column G) 3. Need to generate a report each time the formula gets changed and a new set of Values/Drawdowns is run Report should have an unlimited number of time periods For example: 2/2/2014 begin 2/10/2016 end Each time period will have beginning value, end value, % change and annualized % change and maximum drawdown during that time period 4. Have a set of settings that are modifiable, that are referenced by the the calculation, AND have the ability to add NEW settings (parameters) that can then be referenced by the calculation steps QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (FAQ) Here are some questions other developers have asked: 1) Q- What is a "run"? Is a run when new data is uploaded? Is a run when parameters are changed that require a chart refresh? Does that mean chart data should be generated at run time and not dynamic generated per request? A: Either. Run can be upon change in parameters, adding new parameters, changing the query (formulas), or uploading new data. Chart and results (remember we should be able to see value change over any given time period) should be generated when any of those happens and the "run" is initiated 2) Q- Changing calculations. How flexible should this be? Is he okay with having a list of calculations in a dropdown? Does he need the ability to generate custom calculations on the Fly? A: Yes we need to be able to generate calculations custom so we can develop more formulas for testing. I gave you a sample formula but it can be much more complex than that. Should be able to reference any of the settings, use any calculation (multiply, divide) and if/then statements with operators such as >, < etc 3) Q-Settings. For the settings that are modifiable, are they listed in the settings tab? Does he want to create custom setting sets/group or just add new settings by name and value? A: Yes those are the settings, however need to be able to add new settings that can then be added to the formulas 4) Q: Security. Will this be hosted internally? Should there be authentication? A: Hired internally if it's easy to run on a windows system. Otherwise hosted somewhere else (preferably something simple like GoDaddy since we don't need that much speed or bandwidth and don't have a big budget for this)
