I am looking to develop 3 websites that offers video content. For this I would need my own login system, payment gateway with Chase Paymentech/Orbital Managed Billing or any similar banking system.
More or less it would have the same functions like Hulu even though I will not have it for TV series or Movies.
Here is what I see that I need.
CMS Posts/Pages
- Post Videos: Title, excerpt, content, URL for video if streamed, plus abilities to create and edit various taxonomies with icons that will also be showed on the posts as their meta data on popovers, as well as author/contributor tags.
i.e a) Attire: Dress, Business. b) Skill level: Basic, advanced. c) Positions:..........d) Author/contributor, and abilities to change published dates and time.
- Post Series:Title (for series as well as individual videos), excerpt (for series as well as individual videos), content (for series as well as individual videos), URL for the videos if streamed, URL for video that will be shown at the series post page (or select first video in the series), plus abilities to create and edit various taxonomies with icons that will also be showed on the posts as their meta data on popovers, as well as author/contributor tags.

- Post Seasons: Title, content, select what series that are included, URL for video that will be shown at the series post page (or select first video in the series 1), plus abilities to create and edit various taxonomies with icons that will also be showed on the posts as their meta data on popovers, as well as author/contributor tags.

CMS Users
- Members/Users lists: ability to edit their accounts and login data, and stop payments, cancel their subscriptions.
- Email lists or individuals, also connect support emails.
- statistics (dates and records that could be printed)
a) Member statistics (confirmed-unconfirmed, paid, pending, failed,)
b) Payment statistics (various reports, such as stripe have)
c) Video statistics (like vimeo pro, plus time watched in minutes and ratios, reports for: totals - individual movies - contributor/author - seasons - series)
The rest of the functions are as Hulu.
- Front page with sign ups and login, and retrieve password
- Index page to see carousels of various things, that I should be able to edit.
- Video pages
- Series Pages
- Season Pages
- Trending
- Popular
- Search page
- Taxonomies pages
- Author/contributer page
- New page
- Account dashboard to edit billing, profile, avatar, information,
- Watch later page and functions
- My history page and functions
- Recommended page and functions
- Favorit/Top lists playlists pages and functions
- Login system and pages for it (login, sign up, reset and request new)
- Free video category page.
Special functions
- redirect users that are not logged in
- redirect users that failed paying to information about this on their account, and that they need to edit their billing, until then they have no access to the contents, only the page that shows what we have.
For example a modal can come up first on the content they try to access and informs about the payments, after that redirected to their account for editing their billing. or they chose to go to the free video page.
- redirects users that login
- alerts for payments success, fails, cancelations of subscriptions, edits made and saved....
- Various Carousels like Hulu for trending, popular, newest, recommended, related (option in video posts), last watched, favorited, and chose from all the taxonomies and authors/contributers,
- Only one bankcard, username,email
More or less Hulu with its own CMS and login system with its own payments gateways and user/member/client handling.
