Modify a PHP websockets chat server to work in https://

Job Description:
I have a websockets chat server, written in PHP(Vanilla PHP 8, not Ratchet, Comet, or any other chat framework) that works in local. I am trying to put it online, but the client cannot connect to it.
The handshake just does not happen. I need someone who is experienced in PHP websockets, and secure authentication with SSL certificates who can modify an existing script using stream_socket_ functions instead of socket_ functions to do the handshake in a secure environment. The chat client is written in Javascript, using the function new WebSocket().
