Create basic Android app for baggage registration and receipt printing

Write a software application that can run on our open-source Android (AOSP) based POS terminals ([login to view URL]) with an interface that mainly consists of a selector for 1, 2 or 3 pieces of luggage. Based on what number n is selected, the POS device will then print n times x number of identical receipts, one by one, from the POS' built in termal printer, that the operator will tear off one by one. The receips contain a unique numerical ID and barcode/q-code that identifies each piece of luggage. The receipts are identical with identical ID over all pieces of luggage for one passenger. The terminal will also display the price y that the operator will collect from the passenger. y is a function of n (number of pieces of luggage), so that if n=1 then y=0, if n=2 then y=z, if n=3 then y=w.
A backend part with a simple php API has to be created plus a mysql db where x, y, x, w are stored and can be changed.
When the application is opened it will do an API call to the backend to read the same parameters. If the POS device is offline the parameters from the last successfull read will be used.
Offline/online funtionality with sync on online will have to be programmed, so that registered transactions (number of pieces of luggage, price and unique numberical ID on receipts) will be written to the db (to be hosted on AWS RDS) either instantaniously if POS device is online, or the next time the POS device comes online while the app is in use.
We expect clean, structured, well-documented code in all parts, as well as API documentation and full code ownership as output from the project.
Sample code for various aspects of the MobiWire POS terminals can be supplied, such as printing to the built-in termal printer.
