Build a website for a book business. Simple brief: - Must have a user friendly CMS that 'non-technical' people can easily use to maintain the website (updating information, images etc.) - Each book is personalised based on the person's name and [login to view URL] website must be able to dynamically generate a preview of the unique book for the customer to view before purchasing. E..g. For someone who's name is SAM, the book preview will show SAM throughout the book in illustrations and text/copy. - E-commerce functionality. - Couponing. - Upon a customer processing an order, website to generate an XML file of key order information. I am looking for advice from the developer to inform what they feel the best approach will be out of building a coomplete custom design website from scratch or using an existing website platform such as Joomla, Wordpress as base and building on this. Hello, this is going to be an exciting project I guess. I Just have couple of questions like : 1. Say, Sam is a writer and he uploads his books for selling on the site A visitor comes and checks out his books online. When visitor is browsing books, he would see Sam's watermark printed on all the pages of the preview pages --- IS my understanding okay? For a simple ECommerce website, Wordpress and WooCommerce will be best option for you. Kindly tell me if you are thinking otherwise. I am also proficient in bigger ECommerce frameWork like Magento but it has huge learning curve and overhead for the Administrator, I have 6 yrs of experience in PHP development, with 3+ yrs of ECommerce development like Magento/WooCommerce.
