DB Browse form and customizable report

I need 2 pieces of code written using VB.NET 2008 Express. If you think code is "scripts", you need not respond).

The first? is a Windows Form with a DataGrid (or similar control). Nothing special except that we want a clickable "report print".

The other is a customizable, printable? report, similar to a mail-merge, but only? a single record group (master/detail) needs to be processed. The report MUST be callable from the DataGrid, and from other, non-related forms, that can supply the "BatchID" (Primary Key of master record).

Therefore, I want to separate modules. One Windows Form named [url removed, login to view] and the other is [url removed, login to view], and does not have to be a Windows Form (but that might still be the right way to do it).

The database tables in question? have a master-detail setup, and some of the detail records require special handling. The others can be presented? using repeating table layouts.

Note: I seriously doubt that a mini-browser window? and HTML layout will work for this (because of the printing and merge), but if it could, that would be great!

Remember - this code is NOT web-based, and the desktop PCs in question are NOT online, so (sadly) we don't have access to any of the good server-based stuff.

I AM open to 3rd-party widgets report generators, whatever as long as they do not require per-PC licensing and are inexpensive.
