Exciting job - Build a Multi Destination Flight Search Engine on travel website!

The tasks in this project: **1. Build and Incorporate a MULTI DESTINATION, META SEARCH FLIGHT SEARCH ENGINE ** The objective is to show cheapest flights to many destinations The flight search engine should include the following features: #Database *Comprehensive, able to handle a lot of data, quick to access Includes data sourced from around 20-40 websites -Able to run on my current server (bluehost - shared hosting) -All flight data needs to be updated semi-continuously -Also data is updated when user requests an update of specific portion of data through search -Data includes: price, date, departure and arrival locations, link to purchase flight, etc -Based on one-way direct flights and only international airports to keep data base compact and quick *Apart of a master flight database, additional databases are necessary #Back-end -Access flight information from database -Compiles all results of the one-way flights to create an Itinerary (Based on user criteria: date, desired layover, destination, etc) -Result: Compiled multi-stop/direct flight itinerary #Front-end -User chooses the location and date range of the flight and layover time in days -The location can be tourist attraction / airport/ city/ country/ continent /anywhere -Search engine displays the cheapest results through 3-4 pages that will narrow down the flights -Redirects to booking site #User account User will be able to save his flight preferences (price range, favorite locations) Email signup (If a flight is found that matches preferences an email will be send) Preferences will be saved so he can access them easily next time **2. Install Your choice of Plugin** The flight search engine will be the main function and content of my website (initially). So, the base for the website is not important. To make it easy for you this project can be done with either: -PHP/ Wordpress (buddypress plugin) [login to view URL] -Ruby on Rails (communityengine plugin) [login to view URL] -Or similar application (depending on your preference of language for this flight search engine) Tell me which language (Ruby on Rails, PHP, etc) and social media plugin you would choose for this project *The entire website design is not your responsibility We can discuss the development of the entire site if everything goes smoothly with this project If you have any questions feel free to ask me, I can send you a graph of the Frontend and Backend functionality.
