Back in 1995, we registered a domain name with the intention of building a service. Life and other business ventures got in the way and the site never materialized. To this day, we continue to receive offers to purchase, some of which are very substantial yet our intention has always been to build a site because we love the online world. Today, the domain is considered to be a highly premium name and we want to let it come to life. For the past few years, as a background task, we've hired programmers from two major web sites which advertise programmers for jobs along with a local person. All of them left us hanging after paying them substantial amounts of money with nothing to show for it. We decided that using joomla and jomsocial might be a good starting point and from there, develop our own API along with custom applications for future ideas. In it's current form, the site is and will be a mashup of social networking and communications, more specifically, SIP based VoIP/IM/SMS. The service offers the usual social networking functions, some free, some bundled into packages along with point to point SIP communications and PSTN connectivity. The Opportunity If you are a developer and can bring unique capabilities specific to our site, opportunities exist in many ways for you. -Build something our members can use, offer user side premium updates/addons to the user base. -Build an API which allows our users to write applications, have different levels which users can purchase from you. Imagine if you would have been one of the first people to work with facebook for example? Think of this as another chance. -Help us better integrate our communications services, sell a premium version of the software to our users. Imagine offering a custom SIP phone for our members, and having a premium version which they can upgrade to. If you are a SIP expert and developing on major platforms, helping us to integrate into our system may prove to be an opportunity. It is a simple deal, no partnerships, no investments other than time, just a non complicated agreement to work together, to both try and benefit while working together to make sure that we have a long term relationship in place. If things don't work out, we both walk away. We are flexible, have plenty of hardware resources, have been in the business for many years and we believe this is a great chance at a ground up opportunity.
