This project involves translating a Java library that consists of 108 source files (roughly the number of classes) and 14,000 (wc) lines from Java to C#. The library implements a decoder for a protocol. The protocol is defined via an XML file. The library uses dom4j to parse the XML file and traverse the resulting DOM to create internal data structures that are used to decode messages transmitted using the protocol. The portion of the library that uses dom4j is limited to 7 small classes. Equivalent .net functionality will have to identified and the existing code modified to adapt to the new .net library or approach. dom4j is the only external dependency and the remaining code uses standard Java language construct and libraries. Maintaining the performance of the decoding operation is extremely important. A small sample program that uses the library, an example XML definition file and sample data that can be used to test the results of the decoding will be provided. The source code/library will be delivered in a form ready to load into and run from Eclipse. The translated code must adhere to normal C# coding standards (i.e. method names capitalized). The use of a translation tool such as Jannet ([login to view URL]) or Microsoft's Java Language Assistant ([login to view URL]) is highly encouraged. Experience with both Java and .net as well as delivery track record will be primary considerations in selecting a coder.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, in the form of a Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Solution/Project.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
The target platform is Windows XP and Visual Studio 2005.
