THE PROBLEM WE’RE TRYING TO SOLVE

Every year over 70,000 students graduate from high school in Massachusetts. The majority aspire to attend college next. The big problem though is that Massachusetts law makes it almost impossible for many of these hardworking students to pursue a higher education. Why? For one reason alone: they’re undocumented. They don’t have a social security number yet. And because they don’t, Massachuetts says to thousands of undocumented graduates every year that

We don’t care that you were brought to Massachusetts when you had no say in the decision...

It doesn’t matter that Massachusetts is the only place you know as home...

It makes little difference that you busted your butt to get excellent grades in school...

Nothing else about you as a person matters

So, if you want to attend a public university, pay twice as much as residents do and don’t expect a penny of financial aid from us.

Lots of people are unaware of this problem and we believe that if the issue were brought to the people, the law that treats undocumented students as second-class citizens would be reversed. So that is the main purpose of the website, to kickoff an awareness digital campaign about this problem and to hopefully influence lawmakers of the state to pass a bill that will fix this injustice that harms students, families, communities and the state as a whole.

Especificaciones: [login to view URL]
